What is Gods Unchained?
Gods Unchained is a new-age tradeable/collectible card video game that promises its players an engaging experience as well as the possibility of earning glory and massive in-game rewards.
It’s a game designed to appeal to both Hearthstone (a free-to-play online collectible card game developed by Blizzard Entertainment) and crypto fans, as it’s based on the Ethereum blockchain.
Gods Unchained is actually a very unique game in the cryptosphere as it operates pretty much like a typical TCG on the surface. However, because it’s built on top of the Ethereum blockchain, all your in-game assets are as secure as they can ever be. In short, Ethereum’s blockchain ensures that there’s no way to have your cards stolen or your wallet hacked. Blockchain technology also allows smart contracts to run that guarantee the scarcity of every creature, spell, and weapon.

Every piece of data the game creates is sent to the Ethereum blockchain. The approach the development team used to develop the game is nothing short of interesting as it uses a hybrid system of on-chain and off-chain systems. This system allows data to be processed in batches and prevents network congestion, ensuring that the gaming experience is a top-notch one.
Finally, the blockchain also ensures that users can exit the game whenever they desire and even generate a profit by selling their earnings or purchases they make. By the way, the prize pool is $1,6 million.
How to play Gods Unchained?
Gods Unchained can be played in a fairly similar manner as Hearthstone, for example. However, the main difference between the two is the fact that Gods Unchained allows its users to trade their cards for ETH on a specific future marketplace.
At the start of the game, each player has to choose one of the six gods who have four basic powers each. The six gods are as follows: Thaeriel – The God of Light, Elyrian – The God of Magic, Auros – The God of War, Aeona – God of Nature, Malissus – The Goddess of Death, and Ludia – The Goddess of Deception.
Before we dive even deeper into details, you should know that you need to pay to create your first deck.
Odds & Type of Packs
One of the most important aspects of Gods Unchained is the fact that you can obtain cards by opening random packs. The price for these packs ranges from $2,4 to somewhere around $200. Each pack contains five cards and a minimum of one card being the type noted on the pack (an Epic pack has at least one epic card, and so forth)
The cards are all unique ERC-721 tokens with four different rarity levels and four different “shine” levels. The rarity levels include Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, while the “shine” levels are Plain, Gold, Shadow, and Diamond.

72,5% of the cards in the game have the Common rarity level, 23% have Rare, 4% have Epic, and only 0,5% of cards have the legendary rarity level. 93,8% of all the cards featured in the game have a plain shine level, 5% are Shadow, 1% are Gold, and 0,2% of cards are Diamond.
The prices for the packs are as follows: Rare – 0,012 ETH, Epic – 0,075, Legendary – 0,112 ETH, and Shiny Legendary – 1 ETH.
Furthermore, cards have purity values, which determined the in-game graphics. For example, a card with a high purity value has shinier in-game graphics. Another characteristic that a card can have is scarcity. Scarcity can be defined as the other number of cards with the same rarity and shine values.
How to buy Gods Unchained Packs?
Buying packs in the game are not as straightforward as buying items in other games, but it’s not exaggeratedly hard either.
For starters, you need to install MetaMask either from its official website or from the Google Web Store. This allows you to deposit funds directly into your new ETH wallet, and to fund your newly created MetaMask wallet.
Next, access the Gods Unchained website, select “Get Cards” select the pack you want and click the Buy button. Click “Confirm” in the pop-up MetaMask window. Once the transfer is completed (it may take several minutes, depending on Ethereum’s network load), you can click the “Open Cards” button and drag and drop the card from the support to your temple stone. Click each card once more to reveal them.
How do I Make Money with Gods Unchained?
So, by now, you may be wondering if you can earn money by playing Gods Unchained. The answer is definitely YES. What’s even better, there are numerous ways to make money with Gods Unchained.

Tournament tickets used to come free with Epic packs and their number is limited to 20,000. It’s worth getting them whenever you can in order to sell them closer to the tournament date.
The team behind Gods Unchained
Gods Unchained is the work of Fuel Games, the minds behind another very popular blockchain game called Etherbots. Led by co-founder and developer Robbie Ferguson, the team also managed to receive investments from top companies such as Nirvana Capital, Continue Capital, and Coinbase. Having such big names involved with the launching of the game is a clear validation regarding the efforts and visions of the game’s team.
Is Gods Unchained the New Generation of Blockchain Games?
Gods Unchained seems like the natural precursor of Etherebots, as it uses the same Ethereum blockchain to operate on. The game’s hybrid on-chain/off-chain system is what makes it revolutionary. Information is processed in batches in order to prevent congestion, the cards and your collections are stored on the Ethereum blockchain, and most gameplay elements will run off-chain.
