A recently released statistics has made it known that the total number of Bitcoin ATMs around the world is about to hit a milestone of 4,000. The report made it known that this milestone is expected to get crossed before the year comes to an end.
3,991 Bitcoin ATMs Across the Globe
The statistical report has revealed the rate at which Bitcoin ATMs are being installed all around the world. Based on the information retrieved from a platform that monitors cryptocurrency ATMs around the world, Cointatmradar, the actual number of Bitcoin ATMs across the globe is 3,991. It is important to note that the first ATMs was installed in the year 2013.
With the number of installed BTC ATMs across the world shooting up exponentially, the milestone of 4000 installations is likely to get crossed before the month comes to an end.
Based on the report, the bulk of BTC ATMs installations are done in the North America region. The report showed that this region controls about 71.39% of the market. The report also noted that Europe is another major player in the BTC ATM market. Europe has about 23.53% of the total market population. Africa has the least number of BTC ATMs installation and a market capitalization of 0.20%.
2,219 ATMs in the U.S Alone
While countries like Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Philippines, Cyprus, Indonesia, Germany and Thailand having one Bitcoin ATM each in their countries, the United States has about 2,219 ATMs spread across the country. This places the U.S right at the top of the list of countries with BTC ATMs. After the U.S the next country on the list is Canada with about 600 BTC ATMs.
In terms of Bitcoin ATM manufacturers market capitalisation, the U.S still maintain its lead. An American company, Genesis Coin has the most significant market share with 32.07%. This is followed closely by General Bytes, a Europe-based BTC ATMs manufacturer with a market share of 29.27%
