Pudgy Penguins Expands Into Gaming With New Mobile Title

Pudgy Penguins, one of the most recognizable NFT brands, is stepping beyond collectibles and into gaming.

The project has launched Pudgy Party, a mobile multiplayer game now live on iOS and Android, created in partnership with U.S.-based developer Mythical Games.

The title introduces a lighthearted “party royale” format where players guide their penguin characters through obstacle courses and quick-fire challenges. Each match features rotating mini-games designed to keep gameplay unpredictable and replayable. Cosmetics such as costumes and emotes can be earned, with some items also available as NFTs for trading.

Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins, described the release as a way to extend the project’s community spirit into an interactive space. “We’ve always focused on building experiences that bring people together,” he said, noting that the mobile launch is just one part of a broader push into entertainment.

The release comes after Pudgy Penguins diversified aggressively over the past year, from launching Pudgy Worlds on desktop to rolling out plush toys at Walmart. The group also introduced its PENGU token, which traders now see as a key part of its expanding digital economy. While the new mobile game doesn’t yet tie directly into PENGU, developers suggested that token integration and other Web3 features could follow.

Industry analysts say the move into gaming could add momentum to the PENGU token, especially if the game attracts a mainstream audience. NFT-linked tokens often respond to community activity, and a successful mobile launch may provide a new layer of utility to support future demand.

With Pudgy Penguins already ranking among the top NFT collections by market cap, Pudgy Party signals an attempt to grow far beyond profile pictures — into a fully fledged entertainment brand with gaming at its core.

Alex is Editor-in-Chief of Coindoo and co-founder of Millennial Media Group, with nearly a decade of experience covering financial markets - crypto first, then everything else. It started in 2016 with Bitcoin. Like most people at the time, he didn't fully understand it - so he kept digging. Blockchain, tokenomics, the projects, the cycles. That curiosity never stopped, and eventually pulled him into traditional markets too: equities, commodities, macro. Not because he left crypto behind, but because you can't properly understand one without the other. What drives him is straightforward: he wants to know why something is happening, not just that it's happening. Most market coverage stops at the headline - price up, price down, here's a chart. Alex finds that kind of reporting actively unhelpful. If you walk away from an article without understanding the mechanism behind the move, what did you actually learn? He holds a degree in Tourism from New Bulgarian University - not the most obvious path into financial markets, but markets have a way of pulling in people who are simply too curious to stay out. He has authored over 200 in-depth analyses and more than 10,000 articles across crypto and traditional finance. He still thinks every day in markets teaches him something new. That's probably why he hasn't stopped.
