Paraguay Arrest and Deport Four Chinese Nationals in Crypto Mining Robbery Attempt

On May 15, Paraguayan authorities arrested one individual and deported three others in connection with an attempted robbery at a crypto mining operation in Coronel Bogado, a town in Paraguay.

The group allegedly attempted to gain unauthorized access to servers used in crypto mining.

According to Prosecutor Irene Rolón, who spoke in an interview with local news outlet Monumental TV, the suspects targeted a locked section of the mining facility. The operation was exposed after a local tip-off alerted authorities to a secured room at the site. Upon investigating, officers discovered four Chinese nationals inside the room.

The individuals, who did not speak Spanish, were identified with the help of digital translation tools and documents confirming their nationality as Chinese nationals. When investigators examined their passports, they found that three of them had entered Paraguay illegally.

Further investigation, with assistance from Interpol, confirmed that the individuals had entered Paraguay through Bolivia and Brazil without proper legal authorization. The authorities have taken swift action to address the incident and are continuing their investigation.
