Fetch.ai's mainnet is set for an important upgrade on April 1, 2025, at 21:00 UTC+8, pending the approval of governance proposal #35.
This release is primarily focused on enhancing network security and improving operational efficiency, with minimal disruption expected for users. The upgrade will incorporate the governance module from cosmos-sdk, enabling voting rights only for users who have delegated FET tokens on the Fetch.ai mainnet. Holders on other networks such as Ethereum, BSC, or Cardano will not be affected by the update.
The upgrade will take place at block height 21,267,067, and an expected downtime of around one hour is anticipated. Validators are urged to follow the upgrade instructions closely to ensure a seamless process, and their prompt participation will be crucial for a quick network recovery. Once the upgrade is complete, the Fetch.ai network will return to normal operations, without any changes to the API or chain state.
