Cardano’s Lace Wallet to Add XRP Support, Confirms Charles Hoskinson

Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson revealed during a recent AMA session that XRP support is coming soon to the Lace wallet, the light wallet developed by Input Output (IOHK), one of the key organizations behind the Cardano blockchain.

Launched on the public mainnet in April 2023, Lace began as a streamlined wallet enabling users to stake ADA directly. Since then, IOHK has steadily enhanced the platform. Updates have added hardware wallet compatibility, dApp connectivity, and by June 2024, support for multi-wallet and multi-account management.

Now, with XRP integration on the horizon, Lace is poised to become a more versatile option for users looking to manage multiple digital assets within a single interface.

This update could attract cross-chain users and expand the Cardano ecosystem’s appeal to those already holding or transacting in XRP.

Cross-Ecosystem Collaboration Gaining Momentum

Hoskinson’s confirmation marks a notable shift, as Cardano and XRP communities have historically operated in parallel. Adding XRP support signals a more open and interoperable direction for the Cardano ecosystem.

As blockchain platforms increasingly prioritize user flexibility and multi-asset compatibility, the move could set a precedent for additional integrations in the near future.
