Cardano Offers Free Integration of Ripple’s RLUSD Stablecoin

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has announced that Cardano is ready to integrate Ripple’s new stablecoin, RLUSD, onto its blockchain completely free of charge — a move aimed at strengthening collaboration between two of the crypto space’s most prominent communities.

In a recent statement, Hoskinson confirmed that talks are underway between Cardano and Ripple teams regarding the technical path forward. “We believe in XRP DeFi and love the community,” he said, underscoring his long-standing support for open interoperability and growth across ecosystems.

Hoskinson emphasized that a stablecoin like RLUSD is crucial for building out XRP’s DeFi ambitions, and Cardano is eager to support that vision. “We said, ‘Look, we’re here to help. We’d like to find a path to get real USD on Cardano,’” he shared.

The discussions are still in the exploratory stage. Several integration paths are being considered, including whether RLUSD would be deployed through LayerZero’s routing infrastructure or issued directly on Cardano.

“We said we’d handle the integration for free because we like the XRP community,” Hoskinson reiterated, but also noted that final decisions depend on the feasibility and alignment of both ecosystems. “It has to make sense for both parties.”

Even as talks with Ripple continue, Cardano is exploring additional stablecoin partnerships to strengthen its DeFi offerings and further expand utility for its users.
