Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Confirms Progress in U.S.-China Trade Talks

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that a full briefing will be held tomorrow to disclose details on ongoing U.S.-China trade discussions.
Speaking to reporters today, Bessent confirmed the talks were productive and involved high-level representatives from both sides.
“We had the Vice Premier, two Vice Ministers who were integrally involved, Ambassador Jameson and myself,” Bessent noted. “I spoke to President Trump, as did Ambassador Jameson, last night. He is fully informed of what is going on.”
Bessent added that the structure of the talks contributed to their productivity, stating, “I think that led to a great deal of the productivity we’ve seen.”
