SEC to Host Critical Roundtable on Crypto Trading Regulation on 11th of April

On April 11, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will host a roundtable to discuss the future of crypto trading rules.

Titled “Between a Block and a Hard Place: Tailoring Regulation for Crypto Trading,” this event is part of the SEC’s ongoing efforts to refine the regulatory landscape for digital assets, marking the second in a series led by its Crypto Task Force.

Key Industry Figures and SEC Leadership to Participate

The roundtable will feature high-profile executives from crypto and finance companies, including Katherine Minarik of Uniswap Labs, Chelsea Pizzola of Cumberland DRW, and Gregory Tusar of Coinbase. Other participants include Jon Herrick of the New York Stock Exchange, Austin Reid of FalconX, and experts from the academic and advocacy sectors. The SEC’s Acting Chair Mark Uyeda, along with Commissioners Caroline Crenshaw and Hester Peirce, will also be present, signaling the importance of the event.

Ongoing “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity”

The roundtable is part of the SEC’s broader initiative, “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity,” with the first session already held on March 21, focusing on crypto’s legal status. Future discussions will address tokenization, decentralized finance (DeFi), and custody, as the SEC continues to push for clearer guidelines in the evolving crypto space.
