In a YouTube video published a few hours ago, Roger Ver, the founder of bitcoin.com, talked about the looming Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hard fork. Roger Ver is also known as ‘Bitcoin Jesus’ due to the zeal with which he evangelized the Bitcoin Gospel in its early days.
Commenting on the current state of BCH, Ver accused nChain’s Chief Scientist Craig Wright of fooling him. Wright, the Australian computer scientist who claimed to be Satoshi Nakomoto, has been working to ensure that Bitcoin Cash implements changes that will restore the network to how Satoshi would have wanted it to be.
Ver and Wright have been friends for some time now. The two are arguably the most controversial figures in the cryptocurrency space. They insist that BCH is the true cryptocurrency that fulfills Nakamoto’s vision. However, there has been a lot of bad blood between them lately. In the video, Ver stated that he is having second thoughts regarding his association with Wright.
“It’s never easy to admit that you’ve been fooled, but maybe I’ve been fooled,” Ver said. He shared a screenshot of an email that Wright had purportedly sent him after he publicly announced that he would support the upgrade plan of Bitcoin ABC and not Wright’s nChain proposals. The email reads in part:
“Side with ABC, you hate bitcoin, you are my enemy. You have f–king no idea what that means. You Will. I AM Satoshi. Have a nice life. You will now discover me when pissed off. And, no. You Could have had proof. Your choice. F–k you.”
Wright also lashed out at Bitcoin ABC group and Bitmain founder on Twitter. He accused them of supporting the implementation of the BCH child pornography and the notorious Silk Road.
The fear is that all this bad blood will lead to a hard fork and splitting the BCH into two – bringing the currency further to the vision set out by Satoshi in his White Paper.
