Nvidia CEO Warns on China, Predicts Next Multi-Trillion Dollar Tech Boom

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang shared an optimistic vision for the future of artificial intelligence and American tech leadership in a post-earnings interview with Bloomberg, highlighting surging demand for the company’s new Blackwell platform while addressing the complex challenges posed by U.S.-China tech tensions.

According to Huang, the Blackwell architecture is thriving amid a global AI boom fueled by platforms like ChatGPT and Grok. Supply chains are expanding rapidly, and “everything is coming together,” he said, reflecting growing momentum across Nvidia’s ecosystem.

When asked whether this global growth compensates for recent setbacks in China due to U.S. export restrictions, Huang acknowledged the magnitude of the Chinese AI market. “You can’t underestimate the importance of China—it’s the second-largest AI market and home to the most AI researchers globally. We want all the world’s developers building on American stacks,” he emphasized.

Despite Nvidia’s record $44.1 billion in Q1 revenue, Huang was candid about the risks of losing ground in China. As local firms like Huawei step in to fill the vacuum, he warned that Chinese competitors have dramatically advanced over the past year, rapidly scaling both in capability and volume. “Whatever we make has to compete—and add value,” he said.

Huang confirmed that major Chinese clients such as Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu have already pivoted to Huawei amid growing uncertainty over U.S. policy. “They don’t have a choice,” he noted, blaming shifting regulations for eroding trust in American platforms. “It’s hard to rely on U.S. tech at this point. That’s one of the unfortunate outcomes of changing policies.”

Still, he remains bullish on America’s ability to lead. “To write off U.S. tech is not smart. This is home to some of the brightest minds in computing. If we have the confidence to compete—we will win.”

Huang also voiced strong support for former President Donald Trump’s proposals to boost domestic manufacturing and revise AI-related export controls. He praised Trump’s tariffs as a “pillar of bold vision” to reindustrialize America and attract global investment, adding that Nvidia is actively building new plants and urging partners to invest in the U.S.

On the international front, Huang announced plans to travel across Europe—including France, Germany, the U.K., and Belgium—to collaborate on AI infrastructure and factory development. “There are a lot of projects in motion,” he said.

Finally, Huang expressed admiration for Elon Musk’s breakthroughs in AI, citing Tesla and xAI as key partners. He highlighted the potential of Optimus—Musk’s humanoid robot—to become a high-volume, scalable product that could kickstart what he calls the next “multi-trillion-dollar industry.”

“Human robots are coming—and I’m very excited for him [Elon],” Huang said.
