Bitcoin and Ethereum on Track for Worst First Quarter in Years, Analyst Warns of Stagnation Ahead

With both cryptocurrencies falling to levels not seen in months, analysts warn that Bitcoin and Ethereum may close out their worst first quarter in years unless a major rally occurs in the coming days.
Bitcoin and Ethereum’s Struggling Q1 Performance
As of March 31, Bitcoin is down 6.49% in the first quarter, potentially marking its worst Q1 performance since 2020, when it dropped by 10.83%. Ethereum has fared even worse, with a 37.98% drop this quarter, its worst Q1 decline since 2018, when it fell 46.61%.
Analyst Predicts Continued Stagnation Until Mid-April
Swyftx chief analyst Pav Hundal believes that a strong rally for Bitcoin and Ethereum is unlikely in the short term. He predicts the cryptocurrency market will remain stagnant until mid-April when more clarity regarding U.S. President Trump’s tariff plans is expected to emerge.
