India Collaborates With Canada to Improve Its Digital Economy
The Indian National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) will become partner with the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI) based in Canada. The main purpose is to investigate the blockchain system and the way it works in order to launch new tools in India.
These two institutions are officially partners due to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed by the both parties on 21 February 2018.
According to Inc42, “both NASSCOM and BRI will now co-invest to boost activities and develop skill sets for blockchain adoption and deployment in India. This collaboration includes joint webinars, case studies and other knowledge sharing activities by BRI for Indian organisations and government departments.”.
The NASSCOM Chairman Raman Roy said for the local media that he is excited about the collaboration and initiative started with India. He mentioned that it would take a significant effort to educate the Indian people about the blockchain technology.
He stated that “Our collaboration with BRI will foster greater collaboration between the two countries, focused on the creation of a world-class sustainable blockchain ecosystem in India that will help enhance our vision for a digital economy. We believe blockchain is a transformative technology for businesses. It is imperative that we identify and explain key application opportunities, issues, strategies and approaches that enable companies and governments to capitalize on this emerging technology.”
According to the Founder and Executive Chairman at Blockchain Research Institute– Don Tapscott, India has a huge potential to rule the digital revolution. The country’s goals are to implement “the electronic health records, land records and digital certificates on a blockchain”.
