EU Mulls Tariff Cuts to Seal Trade Deal With Trump
European officials are weighing the possibility of reducing tariffs on various American goods as part of a strategy to quickly finalize a trade agreement with President Trump, according to sources close to the discussions.
The extent of the EU’s willingness to make trade concessions will be a central topic at a Thursday evening summit in Brussels.
Leaders are expected to deliberate how far they should go to appeal to Trump. Other proposals on the table include easing non-tariff barriers and increasing purchases of U.S. goods.
