Changpeng Zhao Appointed Strategic Advisor to Pakistan Crypto Council
Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, the founder of Binance, has taken on a significant new role as a Strategic Advisor to Pakistan's Crypto Council.
This appointment was reportedly confirmed during a high-level meeting in Islamabad, with key government officials present.
CZ’s Role in Pakistan’s Digital Asset Development
The meeting was led by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, with other prominent attendees including the heads of Pakistan’s financial and regulatory institutions such as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the State Bank of Pakistan. Senior officials from the law and IT ministries were also present to discuss digital asset policy and blockchain adoption.
Additionally, CZ had separate meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, where the discussions focused on advancing the country’s digital asset ecosystem. The country is eager to embrace blockchain and cryptocurrencies as part of its broader financial infrastructure strategy.
Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan: Emerging Crypto Ecosystems
CZ’s involvement in Pakistan follows his advisory role in the Kyrgyz Republic, where he is contributing to the development of Web3 infrastructure and blockchain education. Kyrgyzstan has also launched the A7A5 stablecoin, pegged to the Russian ruble, marking a significant step towards digital asset adoption in the region.
Both Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan aim to create favorable environments for crypto and blockchain technology, drawing interest from the global industry while enhancing their financial systems.
