Cetus Issues Update on Frozen Funds, Confirms Aggregator Back Online

Cetus has issued a community update addressing the status of user funds and outlining the steps being taken following a recent incident.

In a Q&A-format statement, the project clarified that affected funds are split between two locations: assets within the Sui ecosystem and those bridged to Ethereum.

The assets held within Sui are currently frozen, secured by validators, while the Ethereum-based portion remains outside of direct control.

Cetus emphasized that it is working toward two potential outcomes for fund recovery: either a successful on-chain vote by the Sui community to authorize a recovery process, or a whitehat agreement—or legal action—if the hacker is identified.

In a positive development, Cetus confirmed its aggregator service is already back online, signaling partial restoration of operations even as recovery efforts continue.

The team reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and community engagement, noting that updates will continue as progress is made on both the technical and legal fronts.
