The China’s Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID) recently updated its ranking of crypto projects. This ranking has seen Bitcoin move up six places up the previous ranks while EOS and Ethereum maintain their previous positions. The CCID went on to explains how its evaluation is carried out, and also pinpoint how its projects will go in my the future.
CCID Revised its Crypto Ranking
In the newly revised listing, a total of 33 crypto projects were considered just has it was in the previous update.
Among the 33 crypto projects that were ranked, EOS and Ethereum maintained their previous ranking, as EOS maintained the number one spot, followed by Ethereum. EOS and Ethereum have been in the first and second position respectively, since June 2018. The update also saw BTC move from the 19th position which it held in the previous ranking, to the 13th position. BCH dropped from 28th position to the 29th position. NEM which was at the 33rd position was favoured by the ranking, as it moved one place up to 32nd, pushing Decred which occupied the 32nd position down to the bottom of the rankings.
The CCID explained that these thirty-three crypto projects were ranked on the using three criteria. The criteria are as follows creativity, basic technology, and applicability.
According to the CCID, “the indicators should be adapted to all evaluated objects, not just some, the proposed indicators should be related to technological innovation in public chains.” and lastly, “the measurement or evaluation of the indicators can be implemented.”
It was however made known that If the rankings were just based on the creativity category alone, BTC would have been top of the rankings, as it topped the creativity category. For basic technology category; EOS tops, for applicability; Ethereum tops the ranking.
The centre stressed that its evaluation model is constantly enhanced and updated according to information provided by the professionals, experts and consultants working on the project.
