Canada Approves First Spot XRP ETF, Launching June 18 on TSX
Purpose Investments has received the green light from the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) to launch the Purpose XRP ETF, Canada’s first spot XRP exchange-traded fund.
The ETF will begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, marking a significant step forward in regulated access to Ripple’s digital asset.
ETF to Trade Under Three Distinct Tickers
The Purpose XRP ETF will be available in multiple formats to suit different investor needs:
- XRPP – CAD-hedged
- XRPP.B – Unhedged CAD
- XRPP.U – USD-denominated
All three versions will provide direct exposure to XRP, enabling investors to participate in the asset’s price movements without managing private keys or wallets. The ETF is also eligible for Canadian registered accounts, including TFSAs and RRSPs, offering potential tax advantages.
Purpose Highlights Canada’s Digital Asset Leadership
The new product is built on the XRP Ledger, known for its low-cost and fast cross-border settlement capabilities. Purpose Investments sees the approval as a broader endorsement of Canada’s role in supporting institutional-grade crypto infrastructure.
