BRICS: Putin says Russia has “big plans” with China

Russia and China are pushing forward with ambitious space ventures. President Vladimir Putin shared this during a recent briefing, highlighting growing international interest in deep space travel.
Putin confirmed that several nations want to partner with Russia. Lunar missions and Mars exploration remain key goals. He also noted that collaboration with the U.S. continues for now.
ISS Still Operational Amid Uncertain Future
Although the International Space Station is still active, discussions about its next chapter are ongoing. “Ideas are emerging on how to wrap up the ISS program,” Putin stated. “What follows is still under debate.”
Meanwhile, the European Union has chosen to cut ties with Moscow’s space agency. Putin mentioned this move was made without mutual agreement.
Russian Tech Still Powers Global Missions
Despite political tensions, Russian technology continues to function in global space programs. Equipment made in Russia still supports operations on foreign stations, including some tied to Mars research.
Putin also drew a surprising comparison. He likened tech mogul Elon Musk to legendary Soviet engineer Sergei Korolyov. According to Putin, visionaries like them don’t appear often.
