Bitmain Released First Ethereum ASIC Mining Equipment
The Chinese giant Bitcoin miner and manufacturer of ASIC chips revealed about its new tech product on 2nd April 2018.
Bitmain has unveiled its Ethereum new product. The Antminer E3 will be ready for shipping starting 16th July 2018, according to Bitmain’s website. The price per a unit is 800 USD and has a power consumption of 800 W.
According to the description, the company has introduced restrictions on shipping to customers from China and Taiwan as well as orders to “one unit per user”. The new product dedicated to Ethereum mining activities was well appreciated by users. According to Bitmain, their stock have already been pre-ordered in the first batch.
Information about the new product has been circulating through the media since February 2018, when the news website Technews based in China has published an article about this future product.
Also, according to CNBC, analyst Christopher Rolland has announced last month that customers should expect a new circuit dedicated to Ethereum crypto asset, a product that many international miners have required.
“During our travels through Asia last week, we confirmed that Bitmain has already developed an ASIC [application-specific integrated circuit] for mining Ethereum, and is readying the supply chain for shipments in [Q2 2018]“, stated Rolland.
According to Bitmain‘s website, buyers can purchase the Antminer E3 only with Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and USD. You are required to introduce the exact amount described in your order and finish your charge within one hour.
