The number one mining company in the world— Bitmain, which recently went public to become the most valuable blockchain company has recently announced that it will be releasing its next-generation application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chip miners soon. Although no date was officially fixed for the official release yet, the company stated that it is likely to take place this week.
Bitmain has Two New ASIC Miners
This information was made known through a recent tweet from the firm’s official account. The tweet mentioned that the firm is ready to start accepting preorders for the Antminer S15 and Antminer T15. These two miners are regarded as the ancestors of the Antminer S9 and Antminer T9, respectively.
The tweet stated that:
“We are officially announcing the release of our new 7nm miners which possess industry-leading hash rates designed to mine with the SHA256 algorithm. Two models will be offered, the Antminer S15 and T15.”
As expected the two miners will be able to mine bitcoin(BTC), bitcoin cash(BCH), and other SHA256 cryptocurrencies, all at an incredible hashrate, which surpass what the market is currently used to.
A report has made it known that the two next-generation ASIC miners will be featuring the company’s new 7nmASIC chips.
Based on a report, the new chip— BM1391, is quite remarkable, this is because the company has taken important steps towards improving its efficiency. The new miners are designed to achieve a peak energy consumption ratio of 42W/TH. The mining firm however made it known that the consumption ratio of the assembled miners will be somewhat higher. All these are based on little teasers from the company, as it hasn’t released the full specification of these two miners yet.
Miners with Better Specification
Bitmain, which recently filed to go public on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX) will be experiencing a stiff competition with the launch of this product. The reason for this is because other top mining chip manufacturers have previewed devices that will likely achieve greater efficiency than Bitmain’s flagship products.
